General Description:
The purpose of Account Services is to aid in the alignment of client needs with internal procedures. Regardless of individual tasks, all members of the Account Services Department are responsible for client satisfaction in order to maintain and grow current and secure future relationships. Group Account Supervisors will lead and manage a team of account executives and manage one or more accounts independently, ensuring client, faculty, and team satisfaction.

  • Internal
    • Understand product mechanism of action and therapeutic area, including key messages and the major scientific and medical rationale behind them
    • Assist with the development of product marketing/educational messages
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of competitive landscape
    • Work with Vice President on the identification and development of new business initiatives
    • Develop strategic programs to fulfill marketing goals/educational objectives
    • Review estimates, proposals, and grant submissions for existing business and to secure new business
    • Supervise and manage project management from client sign-off (LOA sign off) through project completion
    • Monitor job profitability throughout project
    • Ensure compliance of team with guidelines and regulations for various governing agencies for medical information (FDA, AMA, ACCME, OIG, PhRMA)
    • Ensure client direction is followed and program marketing/learning objectives are fulfilled
    • Be familiar with project status at all times
    • Supervise and mentor account/program staff
    • Contribute to the program curriculum with medical affairs department
    • Ensure overall quality of programs and program materials
    • Direct and coordinate team members to ensure program is on schedule and within approved budget
    • Review project briefs developed by Account Executive/Program Director prior to approval by Vice President
    • Review project estimates prior to approval by Vice President
    • Prepare projections for review by Vice President
    • Manage the development of tactical plans for ongoing and new business opportunities
    • Manage the development of new business pitches
    • Work with Vice President to identify staffing needs
    • Screen and interview potential candidates
    • Review and send client status reports
    • Run internal team staff meetings
    • Attend weekly status meetings
    • Complete daily time entry
  • External
    • Approve and send written communications for faculty and clients
    • Maintain constant communication regarding program status and objectives/goals with faculty and clients
    • Apprise client/funder of association and journal deadlines for submission of applications and materials
    • Lead client meetings where appropriate
    • Discuss program curriculum with faculty
    • Serve as main day-to-day client contact
    • Attend client meetings and live programs
    • Present new business presentations to potential clients/funders
Experience/Skills/Educational Requirements:
  • 4-year degree in communications, marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years experience in medical education or related industry
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Thorough understanding of medical education and pharmaceutical industries and programming
  • Thorough understanding of ACCME, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong team leader and motivator
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, dependable
