About Position
As our organization and client work continues to grow rapidly, we are expanding our medical organization and expertise. Specifically, we are looking to hire a Medical Writing and Slide Development Consultant that specializes in medical writing, presentation development and overall communication excellence. If you have experience developing medical content, writing executive summaries, taking medical meeting notes, and creating medical slide presentations, we would like to hear from you. Our client is actively searching for an organized, self motivated, positive, proactive individual to join the team as a Medical Writing and Slide Development Consultant.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Medical Writing, Note Taking and Slide Development:
    • Producing a full range of written communications, executive summaries, patient and health care professional education and other medical documents in reference to pharmaceutical, diagnostic and device products
    • Developing materials from "blank page" as well as repurposing materials that come from existing resources
    • Listening and capturing detailed information from live Medical Advisory Board and/or Association meetings and then delivering meeting notes and summary documents; must ensure key discussions and insights are completely depicted, medical relevant concepts are well documented and important take-away points/action items are fully communicated
    • PowerPoint and slide presentation development including slides for: advisory boards, training materials, patient and medical education and other marketing and medical initiatives
    • Summarizing data from clinical studies, marketing materials, educational resources into written documents and slide presentations
  • Communication and Message Delivery:
    • Communicating complex concepts in a straightforward and creative manner (in both written output and slide development)
    • Tailoring medical message content for specific audiences (in both written output and slide development)
    • Editorial excellence, producing clear, accurate, grammatically correct and creative written and presentation/slide work on a variety of therapeutic areas appropriate to the project brief
    • Developing visually pleasing, original and imaginative slide decks that tell a story that the viewer/audience can easily understand and retain
    • Application of adult learning techniques and concepts in written and presentation materials
  • Medical Resource and Support:
    • Providing medical reference, instruction and information services to staff as requested
    • Providing consultation services on research strategies, tactics and tools to internal team
    • Reviewing books, journals, technical reports and electronic media relevant to our clients’ needs and overall health care education
Required Skills
  • Well established and proven writing skills across a range of document types
  • Writing is accurate, clear and completed within project timelines and budgets
  • Proficient and superior PowerPoint/slide development skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Attentive to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a discipline relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, such as Nursing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Medicine; an advanced degree is preferred
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in medical research, medical education, pharmaceutical writing, and/or medical writing
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with the healthcare industry (including pharmaceutical, diagnostic, device and biotech industries)
  • Broad therapeutic area knowledge and comfort expected; particular expertise in Diabetes, Osteo, Neuroscience, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Cardiovascular areas
  • A solid understanding of clinical data analysis, advanced knowledge of researching, writing, editing, and reviewing clinical documents
