Job Summary
As Associate Scientific Director Level II, your responsibilities will include content development of scientific materials, data verification, and journal selection. You will be responsible for working with authors and clients on development of scientific content and integration of comments and changes.

Primary Job Functions
  • Writing and editing scientific and medical documents
    • Quality: working within quality standards (on budget, on time, accurate)
    • Independently handles a wide range of projects, including some complex projects
      • Proficient writing and editing skills
      • Proficient in writing mechanics for clinical documents
      • Requires guidance with respect to content and strategy
      • Developing Peer review skills
    • Performing research (literature searches and reviews, etc.)
  • Analyzing and accurate interpretation of clinical data
    • Capable of independent analysis and interpretation of data
    • Understanding of evidence-based medicine within relevant therapeutic areas
  • Therapeutic area knowledge/perspective
    • Understanding and application of scientific and clinical concepts
    • Understanding of pharmacology, clinical trial design, drug development process
    • In depth understanding of multiple therapeutic areas or transferable skills applicable to multiple therapeutic areas
  • Strategy and client services/communication
    • Understands marketing strategy and client’s goals
    • Support SD in execution of strategy and external communication
    • Communicates with team members about project status and strategy
    • Participation in conference calls with clients, authors/KOLs as guided
    • Communicates with clients and faculty
    • Travel to and participate in congresses, client meetings, symposia, etc
    • Support business pitch development through strategic research, etc
    • Understand service offerings
Skills/Education Needed for Position
  • 2+ years of Cardiovascular, Oncology, Immunology, or Women’s Health experience would be helpful
  • An advanced degree such as a PhD, MD, or PharmD
  • The ability to interpret data
  • Must have supported experience of medical/scientific writing skills
  • Experience with peer review of scientific/medical publications, especially in developing scientific manuscripts from study data
  • The ability to autonomously in a team structure; and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet research
  • Punctual, responsive, and reliable
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
