Department and Position Overview:
The Senior Account Executive directly supports the Account Supervisor, as well as business development/sales and client services efforts by implementing and managing projects in a timely and efficient way, and by assuring top-level delivery to meet client expectations. The Senior Account Executive manages the project life cycle, using proven techniques and tools to achieve milestones and deliver results. The Senior Account Executive drives the daily activities of the project, communicating with key internal service delivery personnel and manages scope change, and timeline inhibitors. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for implementing projects in such a way as to promote and support the success and profitability of all continuing education and/or brand support projects. The Senior Account Executive reports directly to the Account Supervisor, and is responsible for delegating work appropriately in order to execute projects according to project plan and timeline.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the development of client proposals, budgets and reconciliations to ensure minimum net and gross profit standards/requirements
  • Works within and manages to assigned and budgeted labor hours by job and position level, to ensure minimum standards of job profitability.
  • Monitors budget including direct costs and labor costs; notifies the Account Supervisor of out of scope items and hours
  • Maintains and/or exceeds minimum billable utilization percentages for position level
  • Responsible for overall project management
  • Works with Traffic to develop timelines and communicate milestones
  • Executes project according to timelines and budgets; manages the internal team accordingly
  • Provides quality management based on internal/external client expectations
  • Identifies possible red flags in projects and alerts team accordingly
  • Modifies core product framework plans to form custom project plans
  • Initiates and reviews work orders with key internal groups
  • Initiates and measures effectiveness of recruitment strategies
  • Assists and provides liaison with faculty/moderators
  • Coordinates and participates in content planning call with faculty and/or key content experts and personnel
  • Interaction with finance in regard to contract negotiations for outsourced services
  • Manages communication with key, internal personnel regarding initial and on-going information and status
  • Creates/completes client contact reports
  • Coordinates pitch presentations and request for proposals
  • Provides budget reconciliation and insurance of job gross profit and net profit percentages twice a month, as well as client communications
  • Delegates projects accordingly to Account Executive, Associate Account Executive
  • Interaction with clients, as directed by Account Supervisor
Education or Equivalent:
  • 4-year college degree
  • +2 years relevant job experience preferably in the healthcare communications industry
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical agencies and interest in industry innovations and forecasts
  • Managed market/care experience a plus
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
  • Project supervision and management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear direction and set expectations
  • Works with confidential and sensitive corporate, client and employee information and must conduct him or herself accordingly
  • Budget reconciliation and insurance of job gross profit and net profit percentages
  • Mid-level working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
Department Responsibility:
  • Provides standard and customized reports to clients at specified intervals
  • Adheres to PhRMA, FDA, OIG and ACCME guidelines
  • Ensures documentation of CE programs
  • Displays professionalism at all times
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to obtain results
  • Responds well under pressure, is flexible
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for all agency procedures and workflow
  • Implements Hub of the Wheel concept and ensures that team members are adhering to corporate standards
  • Attends multiple internal meetings with sales, client services, meeting services, traffic and other key personnel to discuss project status, etc.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality control of client materials and, as appropriate, develop best practices protocols for project teams to facilitate such quality control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Travel required up to 25%
  • Required to be available to work outside the company’s standard work hours
