Department and Position Overview:
The Director, Creative Services oversees creative staff and overall department management, and is responsible for collaboration with senior management and support teams to ensure client programs are implemented with strategic insight, exceptional creative and outstanding customer service. The Director, Creative Services supports business development/sales efforts and corporate initiatives to final deliverables through overseeing and ensuring delivery of high-quality creative across all accounts and corporate communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees, direct and provide leadership to the creative staff
  • Oversees the management of department and interdepartmental workflow
  • Provides the creative staff with resources, training, support and career development opportunities
  • Provides creative and operational vision to the creative staff
  • Communicates direction to the creative staff regarding artwork concepts and execution
  • Provides day-to-day management and ongoing communications to internal teams regarding design-related material development, ensuring delivery of excellent print, multimedia and online materials
  • Attends internal meetings with sales, client services, meeting services, traffic and other key personnel to discuss project status, etc.
  • Develops and oversee outstanding design solutions for the company and its clients
  • Cultivates, develop and maintain strong and effective internal and external client and vendor relationships
  • Manages and exceed internal and external client expectations for all facets of creative execution
  • Ensures high standards of quality control for client and corporate materials
  • Develops and support best practice protocols for project teams to facilitate efficient processes and high quality control standards
  • Contribute to new business creative, strategic and program development
  • Ensures the creative staff works within agreed-upon financial and time budgets
  • Provides strategic and creative guidance to client and agency teams
  • Provides appropriate information and suggestions for proposal development and business projection
  • Offers cost-saving measures and encourage staff and coworkers to do the same
  • Participates in corporate initiatives related to operations, human resources and business acumen
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for agency procedures and workflow
Qualifications:
    Education or Equivalent:
    • Bachelor’s degree in art or related field and 7-10 years of creative services management experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, or a combination of some college and 8-12 years experience in leadership roles in marketing and/or creative services environments
  • Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
    • Knowledge of creative strategy and execution as it relates to the healthcare industry, medical marketing and communications
    • Ability to supervise and manage staff, departments and projects
    • Ability to manage numerous, complex projects in various stages of life cycle
    • High-level client service, communication, interpersonal, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to delegate, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
    • Ability to assess, hire, train, manage and mentor human resources
    • Thorough knowledge of creative and production services operations
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXPress and Microsoft Office on Mac and PC
    • In-depth understanding of design principles
    • Solid Knowledge of marketing principles, preferably health care marketing
    • Ability to apply marketing knowledge to brand building initiatives
    • Works with confidential and sensitive corporate, client and employee information and must conduct him or herself accordingly
    • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to obtain results
    • Works well under pressure and is flexible to a changing environment
