Description:
Department and Position Overview:
The Group Account Supervisor serves as team lead in supporting business
development/sales efforts through overseeing and delivering projects in
a timely and professional manner. The Group Account Supervisor (GAS)
can be responsible for multiple clients and/or multiple accounts. The
GAS serves as a liaison between client, account services, and internal
operations and is responsible for the success and client satisfaction
of all projects. Assistant Account Executive, Account
Executive, and/or Senior Account Executive team members report directly
to the Group Account Supervisor. The Group Account Supervisor is
responsible for managing and mentoring his/her direct reports on a
daily basis and for creating and implementing their development plans.
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
Client Management:
• Maintains and manages existing business
opportunities with existing clients
• Assumes primary lead for the client
upon client acceptance of proposal
• Assists with the development of client
agendas and slide presentations
• Leads calls with faculty and/or content
experts regarding content and direction
• Reviews and forwards status/contact
reports to client after each client contact
Project Management:
• Provides direction to support team on
all aspects of project management to ensure client expectations are met
or exceeded
• Manages projects by utilizing approved
internal project briefs, proposal templates, and budget tools
• Collaborates with internal team on
overall project plan, objectives, milestones, and deliverables
Leadership:
• Function as internal team leader
ensuring all members of the team work together smoothly and effectively
• Manage, mentor, and supervise personnel
at the Account Supervisor, Associate Account Executive, Account
Executive, and/or Senior Account Executive levels
• Conduct performance reviews, prepare
development plan, and MBO’s for direct reports
Business Development:•
Works with client services leadership and strategy to help identify
market opportunities that will further client business
• Identifies opportunities for organic growth within assigned accounts
Finance:• Coordinates the development of proposals, budgets, and reconciliations and reviews as required

Collaborates with all teams to ensure proposal development is accurate
and all teams hours are captured (Project Management, Production,
Creative, Clinical/Copy, etc)
• Monitors budgets
including direct costs and labor costs to ensure team members/direct
reports are managing to assigned budgeted labor hours and managing
direct costs
• Provides periodic budget status updates and communication with client
Departmental Responsibilities:• Provides standard and customized reports to clients at specified intervals
• Adheres to PhRMA, FDA, OIG, and ACCME guidelines
•
Attends internal meetings with strategic services, creative services,
marketing operations, and other key personnel to discuss project status
as required
• Ensure the highest standards of
quality control of client materials and, as appropriate, develop best
practices protocols for internal project teams to facilitate quality
control
Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related subject is preferred
•
5+ years of experience with a pharmaceutical advertising agency or
medical communications firm with direct client/brand account management
•
Managed markets agency background is a plus.• Launch experience is preferred.
• Desire to be hands on with client deliverables.
